What is "Development"?

There is a difference between a website "design" and website "development".
Design involves the graphical elements of a website. Colors, images, navigation buttons and icons.
Development involves scripting and coding on the server which makes your site dynamic and interactive.

Some companies specialize in one area or the other, at azlDESiGN we do both....

Below you'll find a few examples of specifically what "development" means.

Real Time Content Management - A program which allows you to add content to your site in "real time". The advantage of this is that the site owner can keep their product offerings current without incurring the additional expense of having the "webmaster" do it for them. A few example sites are listed below:

  • Columbia View Properties - Available Properties can be updated at any time by the site owner.
  • Rocky Mt. Mini Trucks - Sales Showroom can be updated at any time.
  • Chris O'Brien Photography - Services and Prices can be updated as needed.
  • These are just a few examples, and most azlDESiGN sites come with a Real Time Content Management system. This allows your site to keep working for you in the long run, without incurring additional the additional expense of having someone update your site for you.
Mail Lists - Many of our clients have a loyal customer base who want to be informed about new products or events. Opt-In Mail Lists are a perfect tool for this. A customer visits your site and signs up for your email list. You create one message and send it to the entire list with the click of a button. Your customers can opt in or out of the mail list at any time - thus allowing you to avoid problems with sending unsolicited information.

Shopping Carts - Everyone who has been online for anytime at all has, at some point, used a shopping cart to order products. azlDESiGN can help you create an e-commerce site too!

FLASH Animation - It's cool and it adds a great element of interactivity and interest to your site. FLASH is like a mini "web movie" and tons of cool effects can be created with it. Not only is Flash great eye-candy, but it is also a powerful development tool. The key to making Flash work on any site is that the focus of the site should not be your "cool" Flash animation, but rather that the animation emphasizes the goal of the site. A few examples of FLASH can be seen here:

Customized Services - One size does *not* fit all. At azlDESiGN we look at the overall goal of the site and develop the tools which are required to meet that goal.
